Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a website from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. Typically, the higher a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of searches, including image search, local search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

Our development philosophy at Matrix is that the first and most important step to SEO is fundamentally sound website design and construction. As the internet matures, Google and other search engines are moving away from relying on hidden code and depending more and more on the same elements that people see when they visit your website – text, images and links to-and-from other sites.
