Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a website from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results. Typically, the higher a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of searches, including image search, local search and industry-specific vertical search engines.
Our development philosophy at Matrix is that the first and most important step to SEO is fundamentally sound website design and construction. As the internet matures, Google and other search engines are moving away from relying on hidden code and depending more and more on the same elements that people see when they visit your website – text, images and links to-and-from other sites.
Generating Search-Engine Traffic
When search-engine traffic is a priority for a website, we coach our clients on the currently known elements that Google and other search engines are looking for. This includes:
- Text and image handling, especially on the home page.
- The design and construction of the navigation system.
- Links to and from other websites.
- The use of Keywords and Meta Descriptions.
There are companies that do nothing but SEO and often make claims (often untrue) about how they can get their clients prominent placement on organic searches. These companies’ services can be very expensive and don’t always deliver the promised results. Our clients find that our approach to SEO is practical, affordable and yields the search engine results they need.
Google AdWords - Paid Search Results
AdWords is Google's flagship advertising product and main source of revenue. It offers a way for websites to pay for premium placement during internet searches. If an AdWords strategy makes sense for your website, we can help you explore the possibilities and assist in setting up your Google Account.
